Kanade Ringtone Player Support (English)

Kanade Ringtone Player is an iPhone app that plays SMAF (.mmf) files — a ringtone format from the feature-phone era — and exports them as iPhone ringtones (.m4a) under 30 seconds. It requires iOS 26 or later, and its interface is in Japanese only.

Getting .mmf files

The app doesn’t come with any songs; you bring your own .mmf files.

• What you can import — .mmf files you already have, such as ones you made yourself or ones their creators have released.
• How to import — AirDrop the file from a computer or another device; save it in the Files app (in iCloud Drive, for example) and open it from there; or send it over from another app’s share sheet.
• Ringtones from older mobile phones — If you were able to copy one off the phone as an .mmf file, you can import it the same way. Purchased ringtones may be copy-protected, in which case they can’t be transferred.

Frequently asked questions

• How do I set an exported file as my ringtone? — When the export finishes, open the share sheet and choose Use as Ringtone. You can then select it in Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone.
• Can I make a ringtone 30 seconds or longer? — No. iOS limits ringtones to under 30 seconds, so the app always exports them shorter than that.
• Which formats are supported? — SMAF (.mmf), a ringtone format from the feature-phone era.
